Wireless display, Nvidia, Intel fight

Nvidia has announced that they are working a wireless display technology. Something that Intel has been doing for some time as well. Unlike Intel there is nothing specific yet or a working sample shown to the press, but considering the ambition I am sure that one thing they will push for is 1080p transfers. AFAIK Intel can only push 720p. In the end, once it hits the 1080p the fight will start on price and latency in high end. The mainstream market should be OK with a small lag, where as gamers will want lower lag. If this is done right small nettops might have a serious competition, as the Wireless Dispaly should be cheaper and should allow more options as the machine powering it will be more capable. This is really exciting technology.

Given a second thought, I think the fight will be won not necessarily by the best tech, but the best salesman where it counts, the TV manufacturers. If the TVs start coming out supporting one standard, that will be huge boost. Why would you buy another box if you really can be wires free!

Are we really that LOST?

To be completely honest I must say that this sort of blindsided me...
It seems that all so popular TV show Lost is changing or maybe adding a direction to it by entering the gaming scene.

I am sure they will make loads of money considering the huge fan base of the show! One thing that leaves me wondering is that since there are 3 more seasons of Lost coming, is this not too soon? Or does that only mean that there will be more Lost games?

Hyperdistribution

So many can argue that current model of advertising on TV as well as the current distribution model is well out of date and this guy has some nice ideas how to turn all the downloaded content in to advertising money!

Finally the prime time season of all the good tv shows has returned!!
got my copy of prison break and gonna watch it in coming days as well as starting to enjoy some of the new shows such as Californication.....
nevertheless really looking forward to see the new season of hearos to begin.. :D

Gotta love Japan

Just came across one of the Japanese TV shows called human tetris!!!
It is so wickedly cool... I wonder how come we never get anything like this in western world??

And at the end of the day this is not the only brilliant funny TV show out of Japan... for those who remember Takeshi Castle!! and there have been many more but how come most never make it western world?? I even heard that they wanted to Takeshi castle remake in UK or maybe it was US and it was forbidden because it neglected safety issues!!! I must say it might not be the safest of the shows... but it is not like all the landing places are with spikes and errors carry death penalty or mutilation... I mean common... why not let have sensible adults have some fun?? No wonder that people are getting fat as it seems that all the physical activities have become unsafe unless u are a professional.. and so all people can do is be couch potatoes and eat and get fat.... dammit!!!
